Balanced Foot Mount Design
For the larger work and pleasure boats UNIKAS balanced cylinders have several advantages. Having equal volume on both ends gives you equal steering power in either direction. You also have an equal number of wheel turns in both directions. UNIKAS cylinders have a dust seal and a lipped oil seal at each end. This double protection keeps dirt out of the system and extends cylinder life. The shaft is supported at three points, keeping it straight and protecting the seals from flat spots and leaks. The foot mount cylinders have a heavily ribbed, aluminum alloy foot that bolts solidly to your boat. Pivoting on a stainless steel hinge pin, the cylinder is free to follow the tiller arm movement. Foot mount cylinders can be used in inboard, outboard, or stern drive powered boats.

Dual Cylinder Design
For work and pleasure boat applications whose torque requirements are larger than the single cylinder can provide. UNIKAS offers a Dual-Cylinder package. The advantages mirror those of the foot mount design in form and function, thus giving us much more power ina compact package. This package consists of two cylinders mounted on a single mounting plate, connected to the included quadrant that is machine to fit the rudder shaft, making installation simple.
